filling up

as some of you might know

i have gutted two of the rooms in my house

that my daughter and grandson vacated a few months ago

no worries, they got their own little cute place - smile

but i have taken out everything in those rooms,

taken the popcorn off the ceilings, rugs off the floors

even the closet doors are gone

so now it's time

time to fill them up again

but i need to be very careful what i put in them

as i correlate it to

emptying of a part of me

and filling up that part of me

so i started dancing again

actually

tonight i'm gonna go dancing

and tomorrow, i'll start painting the ceilings and walls

and then i'll rest

and contemplate my next steps

and now for something completely different : Ma Bell

popcorn on the ceiling? they must have had some wild parties.. ;-)

that "ma bell" link brought back bad memories. I worked for BellSouth for a year, a contractor scum. I still have nervous twitches from my time there.

Spent my time in the maze avoiding the traps, but never finding the cheese.

Have fun with the room renovation. "and dance like no one's looking".

Ah yes, dancing. Have a wonderful time. May I have this dance? :-)

Maybe I should paint my room, it's been a year since I remodeled it. Na, no hurry, no one looks at it but me, and I don't pay any attention to the walls.

While I hate how time consuming home renovations seem to always be (and those sneaky unexpected hidden costs that somehow always creep up) I love how the room feels after you're all finished. So clean. So freshly your's.
And I know I was but a wee kiddo when the MaBell monopoly was broken up... but do people really have such goldfish-like memories when it comes to how bad a monopoly is for us the consumers??

Oh god, I used to live in a house with popcorn ceilings. Who the hell ever came up with that idea should be in prison. There were little bits of sparkle in it too.

Yep, nothing nicer than a fresh new room just waiting for ideas. Have fun!

I agree with pissed off patricia. Whoever invented "popcorn" for ceilings should be in jail, no parole.
Remodeling can be fun, but dancing, oh yeah, now that, my new friend, that is fun. I ordered a tango DVD and my husband and I learned to tango on our front porch. Gads, it is fun!!!

I remember when Ma. Bell was about service, and only service, like a PUD. But that was before the capitalists got their hooks in the pot.

Ahh, how I wish I knew how to dance. Dancing is so fun to watch, and one of my favorite dancing couples is Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. They had style.

I also liked the dancing scene in a Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino, which might have been the tango.

Thanks for the lyrics to that song! So many beautiful and truthful words throughout. I think songs in many ways is like poetry.

I love, love, love that "I hope you dance" song. That is exactly what I wish for my daughters. Don't sit on the sidelines - get out there and DANCE!!
