saving

remember
when

as kids
we were taught
to save

save money
save the environment
save the children in africa

well
you get
the idea

so,
i was thinking

there i go thinking
again

how come
we are
~ now ~
being told
to spend, spend, spend?

seriously here

we wonder why
we/our government
has a trillion dollar
debt

but why wonder

just look at
the average
consumer
being told
that they
have to buy
the latest and
greatest
60 inch
plasma tv
before the stuper bowl

and they do!

so why should our
government
be any different
than it's regular citizen?

and now for something completely different: Loose Change

Whatever happened to the "I want it, but I don't need it, so I won't buy it" thinking. Now, it's I want it, I get it. People are becoming so dependent on things.

I don't do the spend, spend, spend thing. I have all I need. In fact I'm thinking of getting rid of a lot of it.

And we are supposed to spend because it is patriotic. Very interesting point about how in the past we were supposed to save for the same reason.

People ask my brother why he rides his bike to work ... really he has a lot of reasons but the standard response he has invented is "out of patriotism" [saving resources]. People never get it!

Right now, we need to save America more than ever.

hehe "Stuper Bowl", good call.

I stay away from the great American mind control device, so I guess I really don't know what I'm missing by not buying anything.
