Hey now, hey now. <-- open this link in another tab
While you listen to my musical interlude (the idea came by way of my friend at the Enigma Cafe) I want to share one of my wow~what~a~cool~site secrets with you-all.
The Ideal Bite has been sending me environmental sites and actions for some time now. You can sign up to get you own delivered to your preferred email address. Here are a few of the sites that have come through to my email from them in the last week: The Greenloop, Coats for Cubs, BioBags, EcoSafe, and Greenline Paper.
As you can see, saving the environment is very important for me and I think it has become much more since I've become a Nana. Oh yea ~ news alert ~ my third grandchild was born 11/14 and I was blessed enough to greet him into this world. Now you know why I've been a bit late with this weeks blog post ~ smile.
Back to our regularly scheduled program.
I believe that in order to save this species called human we will need to start loving and taking care of our Mother Earth. For if we don't, She will have to take measures to save Herself. The cleansing and purging that She has already started ~ cyclones and fires and hurricanes ~ to some may be called natural disasters but to me they are our Mother's attempts at healing Herself by doing what we would do if we had a parasite on our skin. We would wash, burn, scrub; basically do anything we could to get off the irritant. So, for the sake of my grand babies and their grand babies, I take actions, drive a biodiesel car and lessen my footprint as best I can on our Mother Earth. We need to start living for our future generations or we will not, as a species, have a future on this planet.
So here's some more links/sites that I regularly respond to emails and take actions from: Environmental Action, Institute for the Study of Planet Earth, Sustainable Communities, Sustainable Business, Co-op America, NRDC, and Environmental Defense, Credo Action.
If you-all have any favorite sites or places you go to help out our survival, please let me/us know! Hugs and yes siree, I'm dancing on Friday!!! smile

"my third grandchild was born 11/14 and I was blessed enough to greet him into this world."
Congratulations!!! And here I thought you were a soccer Mom, at best (age wise). Bad Me!

I think that is a VERY insightful statement, as well as very true. Yes, the things that some times happen are diseasters, but Ma Nature has been at this for thousands of years. I have to think she knows what she's doing more than we do!!

Ecologists essays on the earth.
I agree with you that the earth will do what she needs to heal herself. It is only natural.
The earth will heal itself alright, but she may have to get rid of mankind to do it.
I meet so many people that don't care about the ecology, or the future of mankind, only about what they want and want to do now.
And I read about them all day long.
I spoke of a new company on my blog this morning that is marketing an interesting wind turbine. I may become the area reseller for them, we are discussing that.
Happy naked pagan dancing.
Congratulations! A new grandchild, what a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving. Hugs to you and yours..
Enjoy that new grandchile! Have a great T-Day! Peace back at'cha.
ps, I think it was Geo Carlin who said if we don't clean up our act, the Earth will shake us off like a bunch of fleas. People talk about the future like it's some far distant thing, maybe not realizing everything they do or don't do today affects that future.
I so would not bring an other child on to this rock at this time. I think that your grandchild is going to be facing some hard times.
As for love, I meet so many women that are so bad at it. Anyway, I hope that you had a nice T-Day.
Congratulations on number 3, goddess. Our newest great, great niece celebrated her second birthday this week and, sadly, I agree with bbc-- she's inheriting a very tough row to hoe. (Her parents worry the same as well.) Hopefully, she will follow her grandmother's footsteps to try to save this rock, not just for man, but all his fellow co-travelers.
AZ,
I'm just rambling around on one of rarer-tnat-I-would-like tours of my friends' blogs. Thought I would drop in and say Hi and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. It's good (and a bit sad for me) to see that everyone is keeping their blogs going in my absence. I hope you find some of that Peace as well.
All the best,
Andrew
Hi again,
Thanks for stopping by. It's funny you mention the once-a-week idea. I had the same thought. We'll see... there is so much tugging at my time right now. But it's wonderful to hear from you.
Congratulations! And thank you for all the great links.
